Visited Suvarnabhumi Airport 3^rd Runway Construction Site

On July 6, 2023, Mr. Suebpong Kumhong, Director of Engineeringand Construction Department, Airports of Thailand PLC, welcomed Assoc. Prof. Watcharin Wittayakul, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ackchai Sirikijpanichkul,Assoc. Prof. Dr. Varameth Vichiensan,Asst. Prof. Dr. Kanisa Rungjang professors of the Civil Engineering Department, including the graduate and doctoral students from Faculty of Engineering, Kasetsart University, at Auditorium Room, Office of Construction, Suvarnabhumi Airport, for their site visit and lecture attendance

on Suvarnabhumi Airport 3rd runway construction.The lecture aimed to provide them with more knowledge about runway and taxiway construction procedures, ground improvement and Airfield Lighting System. At the latter half of the session, they were led to tour
the 3^rd runway construction site and Airport Satellite Terminal 1; after when they also tried riding the Automated People Mover (APM).

Royal Thai Navy and EEC Policy Committee Attended a Lecture
on Suvarnabhumi Airport 3^rd Runway Construction

On June 26, 2023, Mr. Anan Wangchingchai, Director of Office of Construction, Suvarnabhumi Airport, Airports of Thailand PLC, welcomed Adm. Worawut Pruksarungruang Chief of the Staff Officer to the Commander-in-Chief, Royal Thai Navy, and the EEC Policy Committee, at Auditorium Room, Office of Construction, Suvarnabhumi Airport, for a lecture on the 3rd runway construction, Airfield Lighting System and the 2^nd Midfield Satellite Apron ground improvement. At the end of the session, the team was invited to try riding the Automated People Mover (APM).

KU Professors and Students On-Site Visit for Progress of
the 3^rd Runway Construction at Suvarnabhumi Airport

On June 14, 2023, Mr. Suebpong Kumhong, Director of Engineeringand Construction Department, Airports of Thailand Public Co., Ltd., welcomed and made a presentation on the progress of the 3^rd runway construction project to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kitpat Poovorawan, Asst. Prof. Dr. Kanisa Rungjang, along with a team of professors and staff of the Civil Engineering Department, as well asthe sophomores and senior students from the Faculty of Engineering, Kasetsart University, at the Banquet Room, 5/F Airport Operations Building (AOB).

In this regard, Mr. Yuttalak Chuvorachet, the Ground Improvement Engineer, who is the AEC Consortium’s representative, gave a lecture on how to install the PVD Vacuum Consolidation at the area where ground improvement would be performed, when Mr. Suwit Thipyan, the Civil Project Deputy Engineer, also made a presentation on pavement works at the 3^rd runway construction site. At the end of the session, the team had been invited to experience riding the Automated People Mover (APM).

Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology (SIIT), Thammasat University,
Visited the 3rd Runway Construction Site at Suvarnabhumi Airport

Mr. Seubpong Khumhong,Vice President, Construction Engineering Department, Airports of Thailand Public Co., Ltd., Welcomed Prof. Dr. Pruettha Nanakorn, Director of SIIT, lecturers of the Department of Civil Engineering and Technology and 4th year students, on the occasion of their visit and lecture attending, regarding the 3^rd Runway Construction for Suvarnabhumi Airport Expansion Project, to gain in-depth understandingand on-site experience about runways and taxiways construction procedures as well as ground improvement, at the Auditorium, Office of Construction, Suvarnabhumi Airport. After the session, they were led to tour different areas of the third runway site, including parallel taxiway and Airport Satellite Terminal 1, after when they were also invited to try riding the Automated People Mover (APM) train.

On March 3, 2023, Mr. Seubpong Khumhong, Vice President, Construction Engineering Department, Airports of Thailand Public Co., Ltd., welcomed Asst. Prof. Dr. Kanisa Rungjang, a professor of the Department of Civil Engineering, and senior students from the Faculty of Engineering, Kasetsart University, on the occasion of their visit and lecture attending regarding the 3^rd Runway Construction for Suvarnabhumi Airport Expansion Project, at the Auditorium, Office of Construction, Suvarnabhumi Airport. The lecture aimed to provide them with more knowledge about runway and taxiway construction procedures, ground improvement and Airfield Lighting System while allowing them to raise questions in the areas concerned. After the session, they were led to tour the sites of the third runway, parallel taxiway and Airport Satellite Terminal 1.

Suvarnabhumi Airport Expansion Project

AEC Consortium, the project supervision consultants who serve as AOT’s representatives, led by Mr. Sivawong Pinijnarapong, also Project Manager, visited several higher education institutions and invited faculty members, students, and the students of Engineering Faculty, for a site visit.

· On 11 January, 2023, AEC introduced the Project to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suphawut Malaikrisanachalee, Head of Civil Engineering Department, and members of the Engineering Faculty, Kasetsart University.

On 16 January, 2023, AEC introduced the Project to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Komsan Maleesee, President for KMITL (Acting), including Vice President and members of the Engineering Faculty, King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang.

On 18 January, 2023, AEC introduced the Project to Miss Pukkanut Makchouy, President of the Civil Aviation Training Center, including Vice President of Academic Affairs Department, Division Directors and faculty members,
Civil Aviation Training Center.
